Currently recruiting a strategic and operational Assistant Chief Financial Officer for St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Established in 1961, St. Joseph's Hospital is a premiere medical campus serving Tucson and the Southwest and is home to the Carondelet Neurological Institute site of North America's first BrainSUITEiCT Neurological surgical suites, and the new Carondelet Joint Replacement Center. St. Joseph's has built a reputation for the high quality care and customer service in programs such as cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, wound care, stroke, diabetes, emergency medicine, rehabilitation and others.The Assistant Chief Financial Officer will report directly to Market Chief Financial Officer of the Carondelet Health Network., The Assistant Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for: * Overseeing all accounting functions in the hospital; * managing and supervising the General Accounting function; * creating timely and efficient financial reports; * performing analysis and managing month end closing; * preparing and reviewing financial statement and expense review; * payables and receivables reviews; * assuring internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer also works with the Market Chief Financial Officer in establishing and monitoring the hospital's financial plans and budgets, and managing the financial affairs of the hospital according to business unit goals, sound business practices, corporate and hospital policies, and according to various government regulatory requirements.Education/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required. MBA, MHA and/or CPA designation is preferred. Required Background Professional Experience; 5 plus years of progressive financial healthcare or equivalent experience in the areas of general accounting; operations; financial systems; financial statement preparation; review and analysis; multi-discipline management experience; and ethics. Experience with an investor owned hospital Management Company. Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize work load and successfully manage all financial activities. Resilience to working successfully under pressure. Ability to convert complex finance, operational, and compliance issues into terms and concepts that are easily disseminated throughout all levels of the organization. Participation, as well as supervisory experience, in negotiating managed care contracts. Substantial financial management experience including financial operations, strategic and financial planning, contracts, reimbursement, budgeting and capital financing in a complex environment. Successful experience as a financial leader in a highly competitive market.A competitive compensation program will be tailored to the selected candidate.
