Position Summary
Directly assists Ticket Office Manager in the planning, organizing and operations of a central ticket office and auxiliary locations. Additionally assists with supervision and training of student employees.

Duties & Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Box Office Manager is to assist Box Office Manager both directly and indirectly in departmental operations.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Supervise student employees on a regular basis.
• Assume office management responsibilities in Box Office Manager’s absence and offer support to student employees including covering duties in their absence.
• Prioritize personal and student employee’s workload to meet Box Office operating requirements.
• Review and recommend new or revised departmental policies and procedures for front of house operations to improve service and efficiency along with updating policies and procedure manuals.
• Assist patrons with customer service needs and work activities of student staff members. Evaluates and resolves problems presented.
• Apply functional knowledge to analyze and respond to matters requiring comprehensive knowledge of policies and department procedures; authorizes exceptions to policies within defined limits.
• Assist in database management for patron accounts and event functionality.
• Train student staff members in customer service, ticketing system (e.g., data entry, ticket printing), balancing ticket sales, phone sales and various clerical duties.
• Train front of house staff in customer service and position specific duties and procedures.
• Recommend organizational adjustments to efficiently and effectively accomplish assigned objectives for box office operation.
• Assist in ensuring reliability and accuracy of ticketing database through staff training, operational guidelines and direct review of data within the ticketing software.
• Coordinate concession sales for Arizona Repertory Theatre events, including purchasing, inventory control and cost management.
• Accurate data entry of subscription sales, patron account information, event information, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
• Knowledge of computerized ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of ticketing office operations.
• Front of house/house management experience.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all areas of work with the ability to review, evaluate, correct and improve your work, as well as the work of others.

Minimum Qualifications
• Front of house experience.
• Supervisory experience.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Five years of related ticket office experience which includes one year of supervisory experience OR; associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field AND three years of ticket office experience which includes one year of supervisory experience, OR; any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
• House management experience.
• Demonstrated experience training others.
