The Job:
:Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain code:based tools and solutions that are effective, reliable, and supportable, in support of an existing production multi:vendor ISP and data center environment
:Identify business needs and propose code:based solutions that meet business requirements
:Participate in evaluation, interop, and refinement of new and existing software and platforms
:Prepare and maintain complete documentation of new and existing solutions
:Develop effective training material for new software tools and platforms
:Respond to requests for assistance from lower:echelon support assets in a timely and supportive manner
:Train and nurture lower:echelon support assets as potential future developers and administrators
:Assist the operations team in general data center and network operations and support
:Plan and assist with scheduled maintenance activities
:Must be able to function in an active and diverse team environment (basement ninjas will do poorly here)
The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have:
:At least 3 years experience developing and supporting custom code:based tools in multi:vendor production environments is highly desirable
:Proficiency with IPv4 sub:netting, particularly CIDR is required
:Proficiency with SOAP/JSON/API methods and tools is required
:Technical fluency with the following
languages/platforms is highly desirable (C/dot:net,
VBScript/JavaScript, server:side scripting, Perl, Ruby,
:Must be able to effectively support and develop for both Windows and nix:based environments
:Must be comfortable working in both GUI and shell:based (bash/ash/etc) environments
:Candidates must be prompt, clean, and professional in appearance
:This is often a customer:facing position; strong professional communication skills, in English, are required
:Must be able to lift up to 30lbs to shoulder height on a regular basis
:Must be able to climb a ladder and perform basic cabling functions (identify, move, label) at arms length
:Must consistently understand and follow complex written and/or verbal instructions
:Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
:Must have (or be able to acquire) a valid Arizona Drivers License, and operate a company vehicle safely.
:Must be able to pass a criminal background check
:Ready their existing skills while learning new ones
:Passionate about technology and someone who finds opportunity in a technical challenge, rather than frustration
:Able to listen to feedback and be open to (and able to provide) alternatives
:Willing to maintain a flexible schedule in order to respond to emergencies (rotating admin on:call)
