Department: Administration and Athletics (1402)Location: Main CampusPosition Summary The University of Arizona Athletics Department is seeking a Director, Strength and Conditioning for Football. The position is fulltime, benefits-eligible and annually appointed. The purpose of this position is to develop and manage the football strength and conditioning program. Duties & Responsibilities Directing and overseeing the development of all physical characteristics for the football program. Design and implement the strength and conditioning programs which include, but are not limited to, strength, speed, conditioning, body profile management, and functional stages of rehabilitation for injured athletes who have been cleared for participation by the medical staff. Instructing in lifting techniques, plyometrics and sprint development, testing and evaluation. Test and evaluate athletic performance on strength, power, flexibility, body fat percentage and specific conditioning. Assist with counseling and referral of student-athletes to certified nutritionists regarding diet, nutrition and weight control. Work cooperatively with the Medical Services staff to provide remedial programs for correction of deficiencies as a result of insufficient training or injury. Assist with the development and maintenance of a database for assigned student-athletes. Enforce the rules and regulations governing the activity in the weight room. Other departmental duties as assigned.
