Department: Asthma/Airway Disease Rsch Ctr (0723)Location: University of Arizona Health SciencesPosition Summary The Asthma & Airway Disease Research Center (A2DRC) seeks an outstanding candidate for a Research Specialist position with experience in the Tucson Epidemiological Study of Airway Obstructive Disease (TESAOD). The ideal candidate will provide advanced research support for the TESAOD research study aimed at analyzing epidemiological data in relation to asthma and lung health. The successful candidate will manage the database for the TESAOD study and organize the databases phenotypic files. The A2DRC is led by Fernando D. Martinez, MD. Since the 1970's the A2DRC has conducted interdisciplinary research and translational medicine that integrates clinical medicine with epidemiology, immunology, genetics, epigenetics, pharmacology and cutting edge technology in order to understand and treat airway disease. The center's mission is to improve our understanding of the risk factors, natural history, biology and treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). For more information about working at the University of Arizona, please click here. Duties & Responsibilities Manage the TESAOD study database. Organize the phenotypic files in the TESAOD database. Create data files for a variety of research projects based on TESAOD data. Analyze epidemiological data in relation to asthma and lung health. Minimum Qualifications Please see Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications below. Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research experience; OR, Six years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Preferred Qualifications Have specific knowledge of multiple parameters of lung function data from the TESAOD study. Know how to analyze data. Be familiar with TESAOD protocols and how data files are structured within the database.
