Development and implementation of business plans, marketing strategy, and forecasts for a product/service or vertical market. Manages a staff of managers.
As a manager in product marketing, you will be responsible for leading the development of company marketing specifications for specific product(s) or product line(s). Manage marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan to meet company objectives. Monitor the development of business plans and business results of e-marketing. Manage lifecycles and product positioning in the market place. Identify customer needs, oversee market research, and monitor the market trends/competitive landscape. Implement and monitor advertising campaigns. Act as a technical advisor for specific product(s). Initiate and foster relationships with development, sales, and other groups to develop new products or enhance functionality of existing product(s) or product line(s). Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.
Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. In-depth knowledge of the computer industry, database and development technology and markets. Extensive marketing analysis experience. BA/BS degree. MBA preferred.

Senior Director, GlobalMarket Intelligence*

We are looking for a highlyperforming Director who is able to apply fact-based insights to impact keybusiness decisions and corporate strategy planning. In this role, you will needstrong skills in strategic thinking, deep data analysis and modeling, analyticproblem framing and solving; and generally be a very resourceful andcharismatic leader who is able to effectively communicate insights andinfluence at all levels, drive cross-functional initiatives, and workeffectively with multiple stakeholders in any situation.
This position resides in theMarket Intelligence side of the Oracle Market and Competitive Intelligenceorganization and reports directly to the Group Vice President and Global Headof Oracle Market & Competitive Intelligence, who reports to Oracle s EVP ofCloud and Converged Infrastructure (who is a CEO direct report). This positionis very visible and critical, and is directly responsible for producing marketanalyses used by our CEO and Sales, GTM, Marketing, Planning/Operations/Financeexecs.
Specific Job Duties:
* Initiates,conducts, and analyzes strategic analyses, market and opportunity assessmentsby regions, industry, products and other dimensions. Provides analyses leadingto timely, relevant, data-based and actionable recommendations. These analyseswill utilize a variety of sources including primary research, syndicatedresearch, user behavior, financial analysis, competitive analysis, analystfirms data, etc. Identifies and develops data sources to provide 360 degreeview of the market.
* Derivesthe Total Addressable Market and Market Share for all markets that Oracle playsin.
* Presentsfindings on market intelligence projects to executives across the company. Workswith strategy and business planning teams to scope analysis that can directlyfeed into company s future strategy plan. Provides recommendations on marketattractiveness, opportunities and emerging trends to Sales, GTM, Marketing andPlanning/Operations executives. Draws conclusions and determines the implicationsof market/competitive data to Oracle s product mix, strategic plan and valueproposition.
* Drivesthe design and deployment of Market Intelligence Executive Analytics Dashboardsfor Presidents and Sales executives. Works with Exec and LOBs to driverequirements into the Dashboards and manages the ongoing program and newreleases of dashboards.
* Supportsthe management of the cross-company Market Intelligence and Planning process spanningall markets that Oracle plays in.
* Workswith teams to assess market data availability, data collection strategy,templates, and process, and to drive consistent definitions, measurements andscalable processes.
* Buildsfinancial or statistical models to support the assessments and estimations ofmarket opportunities.
* Expandsthe breadth and depth of market intelligence coverage for industries, regionsand products. Assists in developing and implementing the vision, strategy,roadmap, new programs, and KPIs/metrics for the Market Intelligence Team.
* Determinesmost effective, innovative and cost-effective sources and methods for obtaininginformation.
* Conductsand supports regular Market Intelligence Key Insights reviews/meetings/presentationswith products, industry, and regional teams.
* LaunchesMarket Intelligence communications on findings and pushes out insights,opportunity analysis, strategic assessments materials/content (e.g.newsletters, executive summaries, area or product-specific write-ups, etc.).
* Drivesa virtual Market Intelligence community across the company to share bestpractices with MI-interested parties.
* Actsas a trusted advisor and provides strategic consultation to Sales and Marketingexecutives.
* Continuouslyrefines hypothesis to help anticipate market developments. Proactivelymaintains and extends knowledge of market and industry trends, user preferencesand changing market forces.
* Workswith internal clients to develop and implement needs and feedback surveys, andto proactively understand key business issues and proposes what new marketintelligence initiatives should be launched to address key issues.

*_Preferred Qualifications_*
* ABachelor s degree in marketing, economics, business or related fields. MBA orrelated graduate degree preferred. 12 years related experience, including 5 yearsof market research, market intelligence, business intelligence, competitive intelligenceor business analysis/planning experience.
* Abig plus if the candidate has worked for analyst firms such as IDC, Gartner andForrester. Especially desirable if the analyst firm background is related tomarket data, Market Trackers, Total Addressable Market (TAM) derivations.
* StrategyConsulting (e.g. McKinsey, Bain, BCG, AT Kearney and the alike) or InvestmentBanking (with financial analysis and modeling knowledge a plus.
* StrongSaaS, PaaS and IaaS knowledge and background. Good knowledge of software(applications, database, middleware) or hardware (server and storage) productsand markets.
* Priorexperience in enterprise software or hardware product marketing or productmanagement organizations.
* Experiencedeploying, building and managing Business Intelligence/Analytics Dashboards.Familiarity with BI applications/tools/reporting systems a plus.
* Outstandingknowledge of MS Excel (including advanced reporting, formula, and pivot tables),PowerPoint and Word.
* Experienceor some knowledge of statistical analysis software a plus. Experience designingand executing both qualitative and quantitative research and statistical datamodel building a plus.
