Position Summary
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology Department at the University of Arizona seeks a candidate for a part-time Research Specialist position to coordinate research efforts of undergraduate students and high school students in a outreach effort for Arizona K-12 schools.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include overseeing undergraduate students in the laboratory
Mentoring high school students on independent research projects
Instruction of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology lessons in high school classrooms
Designing and implementing new lessons for High School classrooms
Conducting Teacher Professional Development workshops

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND two years related research experience; OR, Six years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Life Sciences with an emphasis in Molecular Biology
Knowledge of Fungal Biology and Microbiology
At least two years of experience with Outreach projects
Experience with K-12 education
Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
