Plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
**Education:** ADN or Diploma in Nursing program required. BSN preferred.
**Experience:** Two (2) years of experience in specialty area preferred . One (1) year in supervisory capacity preferred.
**Skills:** Interview others; Team facilitation & meeting skills.
**Licenses/Certifications:** Required: Current Arizona RN license or compact state license and American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
(All new graduate nurses or nurses new to specialty area have 180 days in which to obtain ACLS, PALS or NRP, as required by unit).
