Department: Academic Inits & Stdnt Success (9932)Location: Main CampusPosition Summary The University of Arizona Online Marketing Team is seeking a web developer to join our fast-paced, creative group. We are a growth marketing team supporting the University of Arizona's world-class online campus. The web developer is a key team member, who works in collaboration with the development lead to coordinate and execute web development projects, including participating in planning, developing front-end functionality, quality assurance testing and documentation. This position is also responsible for development and execution of various web-based media initiatives. Successful candidates will possess project management, web development, and communication skills. Duties & Responsibilities Participate as a team member in web site development projects Consult with leadership, fellow team members and outside experts regarding graphics, user experience and content requirements for web development assignments. Work independently and with the lead developer to develop innovative web site features and functionality that adhere to usability and accessibility standards. Create content types and implement theme templates in Drupal using CSS, JavaScript and HTML Assist in maintenance, code review, documentation and other tasks supporting existing sites. Minimum Qualifications Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5 Ability to work within the constraints of a content management system and build maintainable, scalable data structures/content models. Experience working in, and coding for, the Drupal 7 content management system. Knowledge of web standards and protocols including structuring content to meet usability and accessibility standards. Demonstrated ability to work individually and with team members on multiple projects with tight deadlines. Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications Three years of progressively responsible web site design and/or development experience; OR, an Associate's degree in a related field AND two years of web site design and/or development experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Preferred Qualifications Professional background that includes Drupal 7 administration, configuration and maintenance User interface/front-end development experience. Experience using the Bootstrap front-end component library. Experience coding with PHP and working with MySQL databases. Knowledge of responsive design and mobile site design trends. Knowledge of information architecture, user-centered design, and usability testing. Familiarity with semantic content structure and SEO best practices.
