Job Description


Job Title: Food and Beverage Supervisor
Department: Food and Beverage Services
Reports To: Director of Food and Beverage
FLSA Status: Non:Exempt : PT

Position Summary Monitors and supervises activities relating to food and beverage service for facility events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Concessions:
Supervises the concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean:up
Assists in the training of concessions employees engaged in the preparing and cooking foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.
Directs storage, preparation, and serving of refreshments by other workers at refreshment stand or circulating throughout audience.
Assigns concessions workers to locations.
Tabulates receipts and balances accounts.
Inventories supplies on hand at end of each day or other designated period.
Works within guidelines for food and labor costs.

Catering:
Follow weekly work schedule, as assigned by Director of Food and Beverage.
Assigns and/or reviews all function assignments of service staff.
Ensures proper training of personnel assigned.
Recommends and maintains service standards and procedures.
Oversees uniform control on banquet items.
Monitors the physical condition of ballroom and function areas. Reports to operations any area the needs attention.
Works with operations and event coordinators on function room set ups.
Coordinate with Kitchen and stewarding on the timing and production of functions.
Oversees the service by the individual employees in order to maintain the standards of the facility.
Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned.
Effectively solves problems.
Supervises and schedules all food service personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises all employees in concessions and catering. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMGs policies and applicable laws. Responsibility include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
1 to 2 years related experience and/or training
Previous management experience in a similar venue preferred
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to function in a fast:paced, team:oriented environment
Ability to train workers in preparation and cooking of foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.
Ability to manage several direct reports

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of computers.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
