We are looking for a Test Systems Design Technologist to provide a systems approach to the design and development of novel production, depot and engineering test environments used to ensure the performance capability of Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) products. It is the role of the Test Systems Solution Center (TSSC) to protect the warfighter by delivering proven and affordable Test Solutions that ensure the capabilities and integrity of Raytheon products. The individual will have the opportunity to: Work with State-of-the-Art and Emerging Technologies. Work with Customers and a Multidiscipline Team in a Collaborative Environment. Define Innovative Hands-On and Automated Test Systems for a Variety of RMS Products. Mentor the Developers of Hardware and Software Designs Grow Within the Business as a Technical Authority. The Test Systems Solutions Center employs multiple engineering and disciplines and is seeking top talent to join its creative and energetic team of over 520 engineers. Job Description: The Test Systems Design Technologist candidate must have the ability to provide expert technical leadership to a multidiscipline team performing design, integration and validation of RMS test products within the Test Systems Solution Center. As such, the candidate will be primarily responsible for defining test environment architecture and providing technical leadership during all stages of Special Test Equipment (STE) development for missile products with an emphasis on test efficacy, commonality, efficiency, and affordability. The Test Systems Design Technologist will be responsible for test solutions across all RMS product lines and associated programs. The candidate will report to the director level and work autonomously to define strategic solutions. The individual will work with and through other engineers while being accountable for the technical soundness of test solutions through the entire development lifecycle to include integration, requirements verification, customer acceptance, and post-delivery support of highly complex test systems that include simulation, stimulation, and data acquisition capabilities to provide stimulus to and response from highly complex Units Under Test (UUT) at different levels of assembly up to final weapon configuration. Typical work involves: frequent use and application of complex engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques; employ knowledge of systems engineering and other engineering disciplines; interaction with other engineering groups to define, analyze, perform, and interpret tests requirements; uncovering issues and determining a course of action to obtain the desired results; routinely report of progress to leaders; leading and presenting in design reviews; authoring associated technical documents; maintaining a high level of expertise in the role and applying advanced technical knowledge to present and future test system designs. The successful candidate will show a high degree of collaboration, technical vision, and leadership that defines the technical path for future test solutions aligned with future RMS products. Required Skills: A minimum of 20 years relevant professional engineering design work with a proven expertise in complex test system design and aerospace related test system architectures Expert in large scale engineering development, depot and production manufacturing test systems. An expert level of knowledge in measurement systems, test equipment, measurement error, and test methods. Expertise in complex test systems integration, verification, validation and acceptance. A self-driven technical achiever who can work in diverse environments to define technical strategies and execution in response to technology growth Proven technical leadership in leading senior multi-discipline engineers to drive innovative solutions and rapid results New business capture experience including contribution or authoring of white papers, competitive proposal s technical volumes and growth strategies Technical expertise in test methodologies (Electro-Optical and RF systems) Practical working knowledge of Electro-Optical and RF sensors. Vast experience and broad knowledge of industry (commercial) test solutions Experience in developing strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive affordable test solutions with minimal time to market Solid technical knowledge and problem solving across multiple disciplines Well-developed verbal communications, presentation skills and influence across engineering and manufacturing organizations Patents, Papers and Publications in related technical field A proven ability to accurately document architectures and solutions. Excellent business acumen (ROI, etc.) Excellent people skills and mentor of senior engineers U.S. Citizenship Active DoD Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years Desired Skills: Knowledgeable in model based engineering (MBE) development. Experience with virtual verification of test systems Experience using PSpice, Timing Designer and Mentor Graphics design tools, CST, ANSYS HFSS, MatLab, LabView, Creo Schematic, Rhapsody Knowledge of a variety of RF and EO architectures and components Experience with test and measurement of RF/EO circuits and devices, common RF/EO test equipment (ex: Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Meters, etc.), and RF/EO component/system integration Excellent technical writing skills Risk and opportunity management experience MSEE Advanced degree preferred.
