Palo Verde Neighborhood Fair
parking lot of the Emmanuel Baptist Church
1825 North Alvernon Way Tucson, AZ
Look for Booth #1 "Manny's Fundraiser"

On January 13th, 2011, my son Emanuel was diagnosed with a Myeloproliferative Disorder, of the type Polycythemia Vera - this cancer is a rare bone marrow disease that leads to abnormal production of red blood cells. At that point his liver had already been permanently damaged and Emanuel was given two weeks to live but overcame the odds. On June of 2011 he was placed on the liver transplant list and awaits a new liver.

Since the day Emanuel was diagnosed with this disease, he has been living every day with its consequences and equally lethal complications. He has been diagnosed with Budd-Chiari Syndrome which is caused by blood clots that block the large veins that carry blood from the liver into the inferior vena cava. He usually has frequent visits to different specialist to maintain his condition under control, and hospitalization when complications occur.

We appeal to your generosity to help Manny surmount this challenge by attending this fundraising event and sharing this information with family and friends. The items that will be put up for sale are handmade purses and accessories as well as some fine and vintage items. If you have any questions, can not attend but would like to purchase any of the items or would like to help in a different manner please contact us.
